An abode of Respect, Humility, Comfort, Security, Care and lots and lots of fun that what A.S.H.A. is all about. Initially, when we were looking for a suitable place for our Mom (who is a Dementia Patient) wherein she gets the required attention and care, we were very skeptical, tense and had a lot of apprehensions about whether we are doing the right thing or not. Just a few days in A.S.H.A., our Mom has come a long way in terms of her better well being. I realized that it's like a play school where all the therapies whether it is speech mental recollect, physiotherapy are given as part of fun games. The environment is full of joy and happiness. Many thanks to the Doctors, Volunteers and entire staff of A.S.H.A. for their Passion and Service to Humanity. God bless them all...
A.S.H.A. is based on my personal experience in engaging with the organization, the care home in particular, which has been the new home for my wife, Mohuya Chaudhuri (54), a former TV journalist with the NDTV. I am particularly happy about the compassion, friendliness, personal attention and medical care that Mohuya receives there and greatly appreciate the sincerity and dedication of all the attendants and the staff of the place. As a result of the efforts put in by the people at the centre, Mohuya has shown distinct improvement in some of her cognitive abilities, nearly all of which she had lost as a result of the disorder. I am indeed glad that the centre has enabled this perceptible improvement in her. The centre has been particularly careful during these months of Corona-induced lockdowns and restrictions and, by putting in appropriate regulations, has ensured that no one from the care home gets infected. I wish A.S.H.A. every success in their noble endeavourer.
My mother Dr BaljeetKaur Saini, a dementia patient has been in house patient with Hope ek A.s.h.a. It is a home away from home with dedicated staff to take care of in-house patient. In addition to normal care, the Centre makes consistent effort to ensure upkeep for cognitive faculties of the patient by having regular mental and physical exercises. Even during the present Corona pandemic, not only has Centre ensured physical and mental well-being of the patients but also ensured adequate quarantine measure's to safe guard the patients. Regular activities are organized daily to ensure cognitive alertness. In addition, the in-house therapist ensures regular physical exercise. This Centre is a blessing and a HOME away from home. My special gratitude to Dr Sushma Chawla and the support staff of the Centre for this outstanding humanitarian effort despite all odds. I would specially place on record my gratitude to Sana and Priyanka for outstanding care provided to my mother.
Dear Dr. Chawla, We would like to thank you and give our feedback regarding our moms overall well being after coming to the Day Care Centre. Since the time my mom in law Mrs. Surti has started going to Hope Ek A.S.H.A Daycare Centre there is a significant change in her. 1 - She is regaining her confidence. 2 - She has become more receptive in terms of understanding instructions and commands better than before. 3 - She has become little more participative in discussions and started given her opinions occasionally. 4 - She has regained her understanding and expression in Hindi language as she had started only responding and speaking in our mother tongue Gujrati. 5 - The love attention and care given by the staff at the centre is commendable and in 3 weeks we have really seen a lot of improvement in her as she had become silent and wouldn't speak much. Thanks one and all for all the efforts taken to ensure the comfort and well being of each and every patient coming in the centre. Regards, Deepa Surti
The counselling and activity sessions being conducted by the volunteer Rubina for my mother- Dr. Lata Grover (age:75 years) suffering from dementia and early Alzheimer's symptoms have been very fruitful. Rubina has very tactfully been able to identify the areas which interest my mother like stitching ,solving puzzles ,singing old Bollywood movie songs, etc which help in exercising her mind and push her to remember events. Cutting newspaper articles, pasting them, colouring alphabets, joining dots by following instructions have helped my mother in using motor skills and prevents them from deteriorating further.
Our Experience with ASHA for my parents suffering from Dementia. 3 months back my wife found out about Hope Ek A.S.H.A. started by Dr Sushma Chawla. To our great surprise, this was exactly what we were looking for. Hope Ek A.S.H.A. was specifically catered for Dementia and Alzheimer's patients. Before this, we could not find any organization which specifically catered to Dementia patients. such as helpless situations. Thank you once again, Dr.Chawla. Wishing you a lot of success and happiness in your life. We are eternally grateful.
