Activities

A. Mass Awareness

Hope Ek A.S.H.A. (HEA) has been creating awareness about Alzheimer disease and its management among the masses. It is important to recognize this disease at an early stage so that it can be managed and controlled.

We conduct regular awareness camps / programs at RWAs, Corporate, Schools, Senior citizen forums and medical forums.

Till date have organized more than 130 mass awareness camps, caregiver’s meets (caregivers meet and share their experiences) and counselling sessions on memory related subjects at various forums.

B. Home Care

Once a person is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, a long journey of caring begins. The family needs to be counselled and supported so that they accept this change in their life. Volunteers of (HEA) visit the families at regular intervals to counsel them. The caregivers both family and professional need to be trained as per the individual needs and temperament of the patients.

C. Memory Clinic

(HEA) is running one “Memory Clinic” at Greater Kailash - II, New Delhi and want to open more such Centers at various locations on PAN India basis.

In the year 2011, (HEA) started conducting activity sessions for the dementia patients at “Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital” New Delhi on every Saturday for one and a half year.

Now the activity sessions are being conducted at our Memory Clinic in the office of (HEA) under the supervision of our volunteer doctors, volunteers in the presence of the caregivers of their own patient so that they are able to continue at their residences.

D. Caregivers Training

We train family caregivers and professional caregivers who want to adopt their career in the field of “ELDER CARE” AND “ALZHEIMER CARE”. This generates employment opportunities for them.

E. Online Support

(HEA) has a WhatsApp group titled “Caregiver’s Forum” at phone No. 98100-30302 for family caregivers, volunteers, panel doctors of (HEA) and willing senior citizens. Now 50+ members are in the group. This group helps to connect caregivers of Alzheimer disease patients with volunteer doctors on panel with HEA for their daily queries about their patients, and interaction / sharing of thoughts / views among other caregivers as group members.

(HEA) is highly thankful to the social media. This has been found the best method of support services to the family caregivers of Alzheimer diseases patients and other group members.
